In its Broadway debut, In the Heights won the 2008 Tony Award for Best Musical and was a finalist for the The Pulitzer Prize for Drama. By Lin-Manuel Miranda (music, lyrics, and conceived by) and Quiara Alegría Hudes (book aka script). It was later adapted into a major motion picture written by Hudes and directed by Jon M. Chu.
